JOSEPHINE LARSEN - actor, director, teacher, founder of ART14

"I started learning the art of acting when I was 11 yrs old.
It literally saved my life. Over the years I have developed a fascination for the human creative spirit and the vital importance of learning to ACT as a path towards greater confidence, authenticity, creativity, SELF-EXPRESSION and SELF-EMPOWERMENT. My teachings have evolved out of many personal experiences in the professional theatre world, and in life, both good and bad. The methods I use are drawn from a rich background in many different acting styles and techniques, which I have developed, through existential necessity, into a unique teaching system - ART14."
JOSEPHINE has a formal education (Bristol Old Vic Theatre School 1971-4) + a qualification in teaching Performing Arts (Cert ED FE 2003), as well as over 50yrs practical experience in teaching Acting and Impro skills, in three different languages (English, German and Danish). She is also an NLP Master Practitioner (INLPTA - 3 yrs) and has a Certificate in Humanistic Counselling and Clinical Hypnosis.
Parallel to this, she has been blessed with a pioneering professional career in Classic Stage, Dance, Experimental Theatre, Cabaret, Burlesque, Rock Opera, T.V., Radio and Film, both in England and in Europe, while working with some of the greatest artistic talents and minds. JADE SHERIDAN - artistic director, actor, teacher, stage manager

"From a young age I found freedom and safety within the expression and creativity that acting can provide. It is not just a creative practice, it is hope, it is release, it is connection. And I believe wholeheartedly, that acting can change the trajectory of a person's life. Helping you to connect to your gut, to each other, to language, history, joy, to the body and voice. I believe that education, in every regard, most especially in the intimacy of acting, should be a place of safety as well as a place of sanctuary."
JADE graduated from Arts University Bournemouth in 2022, where she studied Acting - resulting in a BA(hons) First-class degree. At university she focused on the study of the voice, movement, singing and various acting techniques and practices. Such as Konstantin Stanislavski, Sanford Meisner, Rudolph Laban, and William Shakespeare. Before university, Jade studied Dance, Musical Theatre, Stage Management and Drama & Theatre studies at Sussex Downs College, Eastbourne.
Since graduating, Jade has studied at, and performed with the National Youth Theatre; stewarded at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, acted in various plays and worked primarily on her own creative pursuits, such as playwriting and developing her own creative practice. She has recently moved to Totnes, and is beginning her career in teaching.
JACK LANGLOIS - actor, singer, writer, composer

JACK owes his discovery of theatre to his love of dance and movement.
'Without first experiencing the joy of rhythm and sound I may not have dared step onto stage at all!"
An audition for a play named ‘Walking, Falling, Getting up… again’ was my first experience of acting and I loved every moment of devising, rehearsing and eventually performing the play based on Terry Real’s ‘I don't want to talk about it’. Since then Jack has regularly attended classes with Josephine Larsen as well as numerous other classes and workshops.
"Performances with Art14 have been a huge success and have brought to light, other skills I have discovered, not just in performing, but also writing, songwriting and music production."
Outside of theatre Jack works as a carpenter. He is an avid Badminton player, loves good food and sometimes attempts to cook it, and occasionally dj’s at parties/club nights under various alias’s such as Djack, Lank Jagois and Dj Daddylonglegs.
KERRY STEVENSON - actor, writer, clown, shape-shifter

KERRY has been a consistent presence in the ART14 advanced group for almost 3 years and has loved every minute of risk-taking in class as well as curating self-written pieces for two absurd shows. You might find her inhabiting an AI cat (CatGPT), an old controlling wife, a human chameleon, or a multi-personality mask wearer. She loves to clown, to move, to shape shift and challenge the audience to think differently and feel deeply.
"I can’t recommend Josephine and these groups more highly for stretching yourself, leaping off the edge, and finding new ground you didn’t know existed before."
For over 25 years, Kerry has been in a whirling romance with theatre that has led her to Edinburgh Fringe, Theatre of Awakening, NU Theatre in Nottingham, and several local play groups around South England.
